About 4-Sol

4-Config fills the OSS product gap
In today's OSS market there are two main solution approaches that are available to the service provider, both of which bring benefits but also considerable challenges in deploying and maintaining functionality in the longer term.

  • COTS product : standard network interfaces (in theory), however solution is a compromise between customer requirements and product capability. Frequent expensive releases required to keep in sync with product and network requirements. Limited ability to enhance the solution by the service provider.
  • Custom Solution : Solution has infinitely flexibility in terms of functionality however no industry expertise brought with solution. Likely quality issues in testing

4-Config fills the gap between the two problematic approaches above. With the right amount of standard product support and the focus on flexibility 4-Config can quickly and easily support any service provider requirements.

4-Config - The OSS Framework
  • Flexible Service Deploy Architecture : The 4-Config service deploy templates allow the operator to take control of his service configuration in-house if desired. No code changes required to deploy new services due to the easy access to the service configuration data via a controlled templating mechanism
  • Extensive Pre-Integrated network deploy templates : Base deployment templates available for Nortel CS2K (Centrex VoIP : Session Policy Controllers, Call Agent, OSS Gate, CICM Gateway), Cisco 45xx, 72xx, Juniper BRAS, DNS, DHCP and various other devices. A key principal of the 4-Config solution is that any network component can be supported in a very short time frame due to the 4-Config template architecture.
  • Pre-Integrated Service Application Modules : L2 VPN (VLAN), IPVPN, Business VoIP, CRM, Logical Inventory
  • Scalable core OSS platform : The 4-Config framework has a built in Network and Service data model, core interfaces to network equipment and service design capability all built on a robust platform with in-built transaction, auditing and security functions
  • Distributed activation agent layer : The 4-Config framework supports the distribution of agents throughout the network, the benefits of which are in terms of scalability and security. Agents can be located on network devices themselves or on separate nodes
  • Flow-through and Manual service configuration : Certain NGN services require by their nature an element of manual configuration due to the high customisation of the service or to the complexity of the service. These differences from the standard triple-play services mean that a combination of flow-through ordering and manual configuration are the optimal solution. The rich context driven 4-Config GUI and comprehensive order handling support this.
